The Rockay City part of Crime Boss was shown at the Game Awards.
At The Game Awards, it was revealed that Crime Boss: Rockay City is a first-person shooter that stars Chuck Norris, Michael Rooker, and Vanilla Ice. The game will come out on March 28, 2023.
Before the full reveal at The Game Awards, 505 Games teased the game with a short live-action clip on Twitter. In the clip, Michael Madsen walked into an office building and asked to give something to Geoff Keighley, calling himself his “biggest fan.” Then, that trailer led to a site that told people to go to “Rocky City” and showed a city that looked a little bit like Miami.
Crime Boss: Rockay City is a “first-person shooter heist game that can be played alone or with friends from the team at InGame Studios and 505 Games,” according to the game’s description. The description says, “The game takes place in Rockay City, a thriving, colorful metropolis with tall skyscrapers and sandy beaches. You play as Travis Baker, a man who wants to become the new King of Rockay City by committing crimes one by one.”
We didn’t learn much else from the trailer, but we do know that it takes place in the 1980s in a city that looks a lot like Miami. We won’t have to wait long to find out what Rockay City is all about. It comes out on March 28, 2023.
Before it was named Crime Boss: Rockay City, there were a lot of guesses about what kind of city the setting was supposed to suggest. Some people thought the world looked like Sleeping Dogs, while others thought the fact that it was published by 505 Games meant it was probably Payday.
Insider Gaming said that the website’s source code also showed that “Project Care Bear” was the code name for Crime Boss. Still, that didn’t tell us a lot of details, but it did show us a little bit about how the game was made.
